What to Post on Your Custom Facebook Page
Where do we find material to publish every single day on our church fan page?
I know that with all the other church responsibilities we have, posting on a custom facebook page can be somewhat of a challenge. So here are a few ways to get that done.
1. Try talking about last Sunday's sermon.
Get someone in your church to take your notes from your sermon and produce 5 posts, one for each work day, about your message that can be discussed on Facebook.
For example: Sunday the pastor talked about forgiving people. Why is it so hard for us to do that?
-or-
The pastor preached on creation a week ago. Is it really possible for dinosaurs to have roamed the earth with man?
2. Daily Bible Devotions.
The members of the church sometimes or often forget to read their bibles on a daily basis. Simply post something from your daily reading and add a comment to it. Example: I was looking at in Romans 1: 24-25. What lie were people believing in these verses?
You should try encouraging your members to read their bibles at least once in each day. What better way then living the example.
3. Prayer for things happening today.
Have someone with a passion for prayer voice a prayer for anything going on today.
For example: God, please protect our soldiers and always be with them as they are in war.
If in any case you decide to pray for a specific person, please bear in mind that sharing prayer requests that are personal can cause problems due to its sensitive nature. Please respect peoples privacy by asking before posting anything personal.
4. Survey your congregation by learning how tocreate a like page on facebook.
People naturally love to voice out their own opinion on any given subject. the members of your church are no different. Begin to prepare them for the Sunday message by asking them a "poll" question.
For example: this Sunday, I will be preaching on tithing. Does Jesus care how much we contribute?
5. Share Announcements (Sparingly!)
Don't forget! Facebook is for RELATIONSHIPS, not your church bulletin. On the other hand, it may be beneficial once or twice a week to remind your congregation of important approaching events.
6. Last but definitely not the least, find ways to meet requirements and minister.
Whether people are in achurch or logged in on Facebook, they need to know God's ways and at the same time need to be introduced to Christ. Please don't forget the primary reason why are we living, it is to spread the gospel with the entire world.
